New Delhi: If you are eligible for income tax refund, it is important to file Income Tax Return (ITR) for that particular year. It will be processed after the tax department confirms the refund status through a notice after which you will receive this income tax refund.
It is important to note that you have received an intimation notice under section 143(1) of the Income Tax Act, 1961. The last extended date for filing returns for the financial year 2020-21 is currently December 31, 2021.
The deadline for most individuals was extended to December 31, 2021 from the previous deadline of September 30, 2021.
Meanwhile, State Bank of India customers who wish to file their Income Tax Return (ITR) can do so with Tax2Win on the YONO app. The country’s top lender recently announced that its customers can file their ITR on the YONO app.

How to track income tax refund status?
You can track your income tax refund in two ways- either by visiting the new income tax portal or by visiting the website of NSDL.
Here are the steps for the new income tax portal:
Step 1: First of all open www.incometax.gov.in portal. Then log in to your account by entering User ID (PAN) and your password.
Step 2: Log in and click on ‘e-File’ option.
Step 3: Select ‘Income Tax Return’ and then ‘View Filed Returns’.
Step 4: Now, check the latest ITR filed.
Step 4: Select ‘View Details’ option and it will show the status of ITR filed by you.
Here are the steps for TIN NSDL website:
Step 1: Open this link https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/oltas/refundstatuslogin.html
Step 2: Then enter the PAN details.
Step 3: Select the year for which you want to check the refund status.
Step 4: Then you enter the captcha code and click on submit. Once you submit your refund status will flash.
If your Income Tax Refund is not credited, you can make a request by selecting ‘Refund Reissue’ under ‘Services’.
