In 6 months, Noida plans FOB to link section 51-52 stations. Noida News – Times of India

NOIDA: NOIDA METRO RAIL CORPORATION (NMRCThe plan is to get a foot overbridge (FOB) to connect the Aqua Line’s Sector 51 metro station with the Blue Line’s Sector 52 metro station in the next six months. 420 meters long and five meters wide L-shaped . A tender has been invited for fudge Project.
At present, there is a 300-metre walkway connecting the two metro stations. But many travelers choose to venture out as the walking route is not convenient for them. And since the ridership of the Aqua Line is indirectly affected by the connectivity with the Blue Line for those traveling to Delhi and vice versa, Noida Metro wants the FOB to be built at the earliest. The average daily ridership of the Aqua Line Metro is around 22,500.
“In the current scenario, people have to exit the station (Sector 52) and walk the distance or catch an e-rickshaw to board the Metro for Noida/Greater Noida, causing inconvenience to most of the commuters. Thus, most of the passengers travel by various modes of transport like autos or cabs to reach their final destinations in the mentioned areas,” as per the tender document.
NMRC General Manager (Technical) Manoj Bajpayee said that in order to provide seamless connectivity, “NMRC has invited e-bids for construction, development, operation and maintenance of a covered FOB connecting the two stations”. “This will come as a great aid to people, especially children, senior citizens and differently-abled people, for a smooth transition between the two stations.”
Officials said the project will be leased for seven years, which can be further extended up to 10 years. The last date of application is 31 March 2022.
In January 2021, the NMRC issued a tender to relocate the walkway as the land was allotted to a Swedish company. “However, there are no plans to shift the path as of now,” Vajpayee said.
