Imran Khan bigger threat to country than Narendra Modi: Pakistan Defence Minister

by India Today World DeskPakistan Defense Minister Khawaja M Asif said in an interview to a Pakistani TV channel that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan is a bigger threat than Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Your foreign enemy knows you. People in Pakistan are still not able to recognize that enemy which was born here and is a bigger threat than the enemy of that country (India). Imran Khan is more dangerous for Pakistan than Narendra Modi and people are not seeing this. He is present among us. Who is more dangerous? The one who is among us or the one who is standing on the other side in front of you?” Asif asked.

Asif said that the protests across Pakistan following the arrest of Imran Khan on 9 May were “an uprising”.

“This enemy is indeed a great threat to our security and May 9 is proof of that. It was a rebellion. It was a rebellion,” he said.

Imran Khan’s supporters protested in Pakistan after armed paramilitary forces arrested him from inside the premises of the Islamabad High Court on 9 May in connection with the Al-Qadir Trust case. Protesters stormed army headquarters, residences of top commanders, took to the streets to burn vehicles, block national highways and attack the country’s security forces.
