IMD predicts ‘moderate to intense’ rain in Mumbai, Thane. Mumbai News – Times of India

India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted a ‘moderate to intense phase’ Palgharhandjob Dahanu Friday among other places.
Head of SID at Climate Research and Services Pune, KS Hosalikar Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad are now expected to receive “moderate to intense rain”. The scientist further predicted that the rain would continue for the next two to three hours.

Hosalikar also said that the IMD has issued a severe weather warning.

“As per the latest satellite and radar observations, parts of Palghar, Dahanu, Shahpur, Murbad Roha, Raigad, Alibag, Modak Sagar Dense cloud cover is observed over Ratnagiri, Dapoli Harnai and S Konkan. These places are likely to receive moderate to heavy rain during three to four hours.

The scientist further said that Mumbai received about 15 mm of rain today.
He further tweeted, “Mumbai has received some moderate rain in the last one hour towards the city, as can be seen in the figure. (approximately 15 mm of rain).”
The IMD has predicted ‘light to moderate rain in the city and suburbs’ in the next 48 hours.
