Krishnamachari Srikkanth praised MS Dhoni during a brief meeting in Mumbai

India’s World Cup-winning cricketer and former chief selector was seen sharing a heart-warming moment with Krishnamachari Srikkanth M S Dhoni on Wednesday.

Dhoni, who is currently leading the Chennai Super Kings IPL 2023, will take the field against Mumbai Indians on Saturday.

Before the clash against the five-time IPL winner, Dhoni was seen having a chat with Srikkanth in Mumbai.

Srikkanth was seen blessing the CSK skipper.

Praising India’s Dhoni, Srikkanth was heard saying, “I salute you, boss.”

Dhoni again asked, “Are you coming or going?” What are you saying?”

Srikkanth said in response, ‘I am doing commentary here, I was doing commentary when you were hitting sixes. Great, I’ll tell you. Honestly, I tell you, I’m happy for you. God bless you!”

The Chennai Super Kings franchise also shared a video of the heartwarming conversation on Twitter.

The tweet from the franchise read, “A pleasant surprise indeed, dear viewers.”

Former CSK cricketer Murali Vijay can also be seen in the video meeting his former teammates at a Mumbai hotel. The tweet went viral garnering over 181k views in no time.

Noting Srikanth’s appearance, the person commented, “Srikanth sir is very lively.”

Others talked about the moving gesture of the 1983 World Cup-winning batsman. “Wow chika sir blessing Dhoni has melted our hearts. Fabulous all yellows,” wrote a fan.

Talking about Dhoni, it is difficult to avoid bringing up the subject of the 2011 World Cup. Reminiscing about India’s 2011 World Cup win, a person tweeted, “The man who backed Dhoni. And the man of selection for the 2011 World Cup team. Chika-Mahi.”

Dhoni-led CSK registered their first win of the season by defeating Lucknow Supergiants by 12 runs on Monday. Chennai opener Ruturaj Gaikwad played a brilliant knock of 57 runs to take Chennai to a mammoth score of 217/7. English all-rounder Moeen Ali took four wickets in the match to restrict Lucknow to 205/7.

Earlier, Chennai had suffered a five-wicket defeat at the hands of defending champions Gujarat Titans.
