‘I’m Good’: US President Biden Tumbles Riding Bike, White House Says He’s ‘Unharmed’ watch

United States President Joe Biden fell off his bicycle on Saturday for a ride with First Lady Jill Biden in his home state of Delaware. In a video that has gone viral, the 79-year-old president is seen crossing a road on his bike and then rolling. He is immediately stunned by the audience, but gets up and says, “I’m good.”

A White House report said the president was unwell after the fall. He was biking with Dr. Jill Biden at a state park near their beach home on Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. The report said the president had stopped to speak to a small crowd of well-wishers and journalists when he fell. The president told him that he had lost his balance while trying to take a leg out of the bike clip.

Result: “A mad scramble of the Secret Service and the press.” However, the report mentioned that no scratches or scuffs were visible. “No medical attention is required,” a White House official said, adding that “the president looks forward to spending the rest of the day with his family.”

Biden is the oldest US president and his health is under constant scrutiny, especially when it comes to speculation whether he will run for a second term in 2024.

In November 2020, Biden broke his leg while playing with his pet German shepherds. This was shortly after his election but before he assumed office. The doctor gave him a clear bill of health a year later, calling him “healthy” and “vigorous.”

However, he raised some questions from the press about lowering Trump-era tariffs on Chinese goods to ease inflationary pressures, and said he would speak to Chinese President Xi Jinping soon.

When asked about progress on gun legislation — following the mass shootings in Texas and New York — Biden said he was pleased with the action in his home state, which banned assault-style weapons.
