Ranchi: Governor Ramesh Bais On Thursday, ICFAI University urged the graduating students of Jharkhand to use their knowledge not only for professional development but also for the betterment of the society.
NS Governor Aryabhat was addressing the students during the convocation ceremony of the university organized in hybrid mode in the auditorium.
He appreciated the steps taken by ICFAI University to provide quality education to the students and help them in building their character.
A total of 219 students graduating in 2020 and 2021 were awarded degrees at the ceremony. Of these, 11 students obtained PhD, 70 master’s degrees and the rest bachelor’s degrees. Twelve gold and silver medals were awarded to the toppers and second rank students respectively in different subjects. About 70% of the toppers were girl students.
Speaking as the guest of honor, PM Prasad, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Central Coalfields Limited advised the students not to become mere job seekers, and asked them to become entrepreneurs by taking advantage of the natural resources of Jharkhand. should try.
Welcoming the guests, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor ORS Rao, highlighted the various steps taken by his organization to provide quality education to the students to make them employable and good citizens. He said that about 10% of his students have become entrepreneurs in various fields including running solar powered classes.
He said that 86% of the students in the university are from Jharkhand, while the rest are from 12 other states like Manipur, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. He said that the university is giving fee waiver to the students residing in Jharkhand.
Professor Rao also spoke on the outreach program of the University under which remedial classes, skill entrepreneurship training and paramedical training are being provided to the underprivileged living in neighboring areas.
