‘I Think Hardik Pandya Deserves to be Captain of The National Side’: Rashid Khan

Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan on Thursday said that he would be very happy if Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya becomes India’s permanent captain in T20 cricket.

The star all-rounder recently led India For the win in the T20I series against New Zealand. He had earlier also captained India in the absence of Rohit Sharma in Ireland.

With age not on Rohit’s side, there are talks that Pandya should be made the full-time captain in the shortest format before the 2024 T20s. World cup.

Rashid Khan supported these views and said, “Pandya is a fantastic player. I think he deserves to be the captain of the national side. I have played under him. If he is made the permanent captain of the Indian T20 team I will be very happy.Players are difficult to manage and he understands it very well and he did his job brilliantly in IPL.

I would be happy if he gets a chance. And for that I wish him all the best, also I look forward to being a part of Gujarat Titans again next year and playing under his leadership,” Rashid Khan told IANS here.
