PMK MP Anbumani Ramadoss has urged for legislation to facilitate local reservation in Tamil Nadu and represent more Tamils in CSK’s team.
Chennai Super Kings are one of the most successful teams in IPL having won the prestigious league four times in their history, CSK will be fighting for their fifth title in IPL 2023 as they are currently placed fourth on the points table.
CSK haven’t been a force to be reckoned with under MS Dhoni’s captaincy, however PMK MP Anbumani Ramadoss made a surprising demand, urging the Chennai-based franchise to give chances to more Tamil players.
Patli People’s Party leader Anbumani Ramadoss called for local reservation in IPL while addressing the Bamka 2.0 explanatory public meeting held at Uthramerur in Kancheepuram district.

PMK MP Dr Anbumani Ramadoss highlighted the ’emotional’ issue of not having any Tamil players in the CSK team and urged that there should be a law that facilitates 80% work for Tamils in Tamil Nadu.
Ramdas said the same rule should apply to cricket in the state as well, IPL being no exception.
Addressing the media yesterday, Ramdas said, ‘I love Dhoni but it is a matter of regret that there are no Tamils in CSK.’

“I am also a supporter of CSK, I love Dhoni, whistle for Dhoni, but it is certainly sad that there is not a single Tamil in that team, there are 20 players and at least one Tamil Should have been, what is the justification for not having a Tamil Nadu player in the name of Chennai.
Tamil Nadu has 12 players plying their trade in the ongoing IPL 2023 campaign but all of them were bought by franchises other than CSK.

Sonu Yadav and Dinesh Karthik play for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sai Sudarshan, Vijay Shankar, Ravishrinivasan Sai Kishore all play for Gujarat Titans. T Natarajan and Washington Sundar were signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad, however the latter was ruled out of IPL 2023 due to injury.
