I don’t think ED called me just because I am close to CM: Vikar – Henry Club

A day after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was questioned Shiv Sena MLA Ravindra Vaykar, a close aide of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, said on Wednesday that he has answered all the questions asked by the central agency. However, he refused to divulge details about the case in respect of which he was called for investigation.

“ED wanted to ask some questions. He has the right to interrogate me and he called me accordingly. I answered all the questions. It is my duty as a citizen of this country to call me up and give an explanation,” Vikar told media persons.

“I don’t think the ED called me for questioning just because I am close to Uddhav sahab. Those officers had some doubts and I answered them,” he said.

Waikar was questioned for more than eight hours on Tuesday.

in March, BJP Leader Kirit Somaiya had accused Thackeray and Waikar of allegedly misusing their positions to buy property in Alibaug in 2014, which was later transferred to the names of their wives Rashmi Thackeray and Manisha Waikar. Sources said Somaiya has also accused the ED of having disproportionate assets with Vikar and his wife.
