Aiden Markram said that a win over DC will boost SRH’s confidence going back to Hyderabad for the home-leg matches.
Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Aiden Markram was impressed with his team’s attitude against Delhi Capitals on Sunday night. The Orange Army claimed their third win of the season and avenged their defeat at home to David Warner & Co. It was a clinical performance from Sunrisers as the hosts failed to hold their nerves in the chase of 198.
Opting to bat, opener Abhishek Sharma scored 67 off 36 balls while Heinrich Klaasen scored an unbeaten 53 off just 27 balls to power Sunrisers Hyderabad to 197 for 6.

“Great team effort, nice to see the guys show good skill and character. I don’t mind things being wrong if the approach is right. “It helps to see performances like this, people will see that the results are coming,” Markram said at the post-match press conference.
Sunrisers needed a hero after Mitchell Marsh’s brilliant spell saw them lose quick wickets in the middle order and Klaasen stood up to bail them out of trouble. His unbeaten 53-run innings had two fours and four sixes.
“Credit goes to the way the team has responded. Klassy has been in great form and Abhishek worked hard early on. Klassy gets himself back to play like this, it’s good to see that Pays,” said the SRH skipper.

Meanwhile, Mayank Markande once again impressed with the ball and broke the century partnership by taking the crucial wicket of Phil Salt, which turned the tide in SRH’s favour.
“We needed wickets to get back in the game, both were doing well and it needed a special catch from Mayank,” he added.

The Proteas batsman further said that the win over DC will boost SRH’s confidence going back to Hyderabad for the home-leg matches.
“Fortunately, the ball was stopping a bit and the bowlers showed great character to own up to their blunders. This win will give a lot of confidence, now we go back home and try to build on it,” he concluded.
