Hyundai Standardises 4 Airbags, 3-Point Seatbelts Across Range With More Focus On Safety

Hyundai Motor India Limited has announced standardization of 3-point seatbelts and seatbelt reminder for all seats across its entire model lineup. Also, the company has also announced the introduction of 4 airbags as standard across the model lineup. The company currently offers 6 airbags as standard in the Tucson, Kona, Creta, Alcazar, All-New Verna, and Ioniq 5. However, the Grand i10 Nios, Aura and the i20 come with 4 airbags as standard. In addition, now the seat belt alarm for the rear occupants will also work if the seat is occupied but the seat belt is not being used.

Commenting on this, Mr. Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India said, “Customer safety is our top priority and we have been a pioneer in standardizing safety features. At Hyundai, we are committed to continuously raise the safety standards of our product line-up and thus, in line with the Government of India’s directive, we have equipped our entire range model line with 3-point seatbelts and seatbelt reminder for all seats Upgraded up. as standard offering. We strongly believe that standardization of security features will provide better protection to our customers.”

In addition, the Creta and Alcazar were upgraded with a host of standard active and passive safety features including Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), rear disc brakes and more. In addition, the application of Hyundai Smart Sense Level-2 ADAS features has been increased from one model in 2022 (Tucson) to three models currently (Tucson, Ioniq 5 and the new Hyundai Verna). This will be further expanded to other popular models going forward.
