Hotel Taj becomes ‘world’s strongest hotel brand’

New Delhi: Taj, the iconic brand of Tata Group’s hospitality firm Indian Hotels Co Ltd, has been ranked the ‘World’s Strongest Hotel Brand’ by Brand Finance, a global leading brand valuation consultancy.

In its ‘Hotel 50 2022’ Annual Report, Brand Finance has listed Taj from Premier Inn, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Hampton by Hilton, Embassy Suites Hotels, JW Marriott and Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, Residence Inn by Marriott, Waldorf Astoria Hotels put forward. and Resort & W Hotels Worldwide, are among the top ten strongest hotel brands. In its report, Brand Finance said, “Taj Hotels (brand value up 6 per cent to US$314 million) is the strongest brand in the ranking, with a Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 88.9 out of 100 and a corresponding AAA brand rating. It added that the pandemic and the subsequent national lockdown affected the Taj like other hotels around the world and the Taj was able to successfully adjust strategies to remain relevant to the needs of tourists.

“Taj was at the forefront of this with agility and strategic initiatives such as supporting the healthcare sector,” the report said.

Brand Finance’s assessment of stakeholder equity includes original market research data from over a million respondents in over 35 countries and approximately 30 territories.

IHCL said in a statement that this is the second year in a row that Taj has been ranked as the world’s strongest hotel brand.

In terms of most valuable hotel brands, Hilton Hotels & Resorts tops the list with a brand value of USD 12 billion, followed by Hyatt at USD 5.9 billion and Holiday Inn at USD 4.2 billion.
