Home Ministry honored 152 police personnel with Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation 2021

New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has released the 2021 list of awardees for ‘Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Exploration’. This year the award will be given to 152 police personnel serving across the country.

Established in 2018, the award aims to encourage high standards in crime investigation and to recognize the “excellence in investigation” rendered by police personnel in their work.

The Ministry of Home Affairs said in a statement: “The ‘Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation’ for the year 2021 has been conferred on 152 police personnel. The medal was instituted in 2018 with the objective of promoting high professional standards. To recognize such excellence in investigation of crime and investigation by the Investigating Officers.”

Of the total 152 awardees, 15 are from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), 11 from Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra police forces, 10 from Uttar Pradesh, nine from Kerala and Rajasthan, eight from Tamil Nadu, seven from Bihar. Six each from Gujarat, Karnataka and Delhi. According to the statement, five award police officers are from Telangana, four each from Assam, Haryana, Odisha and West Bengal, while the rest are from other states and union territories.

28 women police officers are included in this list.
