Himachal Pradesh: Shaking taps, engine shut off in Lahaul-Spiti Shimla News – Times of India

Manali: Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are prevailing in central and eastern parts of the country as extreme cold has disrupted normal life in many parts of northwestern parts.
While the Spiti river has almost frozen, the Chenab river in Lahaul has also started freezing.

Not only rivers, taps, milk or cooking oil, but also vehicles’ engines freeze in extreme cold conditions Lahaul-Spiti Himachal district. In Lahaul-Spiti, people are facing trouble in starting the engines of vehicles in the morning and at night. People are setting fires to heat fuel tanks and engines. Himachal Road Transport Corporation buses are facing trouble in plying as the engine has started working.

The situation is even worse at some places, including Spiti, where residents are covering vehicles with blankets and sheets at night to protect the engines from freezing.
The IMD said that cold to severe cold wave conditions are very likely to continue over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan and MP during the next 24 hours.
