Shimla: Four people died on the spot while three others were injured after falling into a ditch during excavation. Himachal Pradesh‘s Kullu district on Tuesday, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Excavation Operator Home Raj and three employees. Public Works Department Pyaresi, Dhabe Ram and Bhim Singh. District Superintendent of Police Gurdev Sharma told that they were residents of Kullu.
The excavator fell into a ditch near Saminulla on the Banjar-Dalvahad road in Graho village. barren subdivision in the afternoon, Sharma said.
He said the injured Pannu Ram, Chaman Lal and Tara Chand, who are natives of Kullu, have been admitted to the hospital. Banjar Civil Hospital,
Prima facie it appears that the excavator fell into the gorge as its operator lost control. Sharma said, however, that the police is probing the matter.
