IMD has issued a yellow alert, warning of heat wave at different places in the capital.

Heatwave Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned on Saturday that there is a possibility of heat wave conditions in the north-west and central parts of the country in the next two-three days.

IMD said that on June 4-5, there is a possibility of heat wave in Rajasthan, Jammu division, Himachal, Uttarakhand, South Punjab and South Haryana-Delhi.

The Meteorological Department has warned that heat wave conditions will prevail in Vidarbha, Jharkhand, Interior Odisha and Chhattisgarh till June 4-6. The temperature of South UP and North MP is likely to increase till June 4-8.

Meanwhile, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 28.7 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal, on Saturday. The IMD also said that the national capital is likely to have clear skies during the day and heat wave conditions are likely at some places.

IMD has issued a yellow alert, warning of heat wave at different places in the capital. The mercury can rise up to 44 degree Celsius at Safdarjung Observatory.

Heat wave is declared when the maximum temperature exceeds 40 degree Celsius and is at least 4.5 degree above normal.
