Haryana: Anil Vij releases Rs 50 lakh for setting up open gyms at 24 locations for Ambala cantonment residents | Gurgaon News – Times of India

AMBALA: Haryana home, health and urban local bodies minister Anil Vij released Rs 50 lakh from his discretionary grant for setting up open gymnasiums at 24 locations in Ambala Sadar Municipal Council (MC) jurisdiction.
The area falls in Ambala Cantonment assembly constituency, from where minister Vij is an elected member of legislative assembly (MLA).
This is the first-ever such development of setting up open gyms at this scale for Ambala Cantonment residents.
“For the first time, such a large number of open gyms are being set up at different places, so that children and adults will be able to take advantage of it by exercising. Open gyms will be set up at 24 locations in different wards ( of Ambala Sadar MC). Very soon the work of setting up gyms will be started”, Anil Vij said on Tuesday.
He said that open gyms would be set up in parks, grounds and other common places so that people would be able to maintain their fitness while taking walks as well as exercising on gym equipment.
Vij said the condition of parks has already been improved in various wards and now open gyms are being set up to provide better environment for taking care of fitness to people.
He said that so far (in Ambala Cantt area), open gyms have been set up right next to the lake in Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Park, Subhash Colony, Ambedkar Park at 12 Cross Road and Ram Kishan Colony and people are already benefitting from various equipment installed there.
Anil Vij said that the new open gyms will be set up at the park near the Shiva Temple in Machi Mohallacompound ahata Shuganchand, housing board’s Gandhi Park, ground of Kumhar Mandi, Ranjit Nagar Park, Nehru Park, Housing Board Colony, Balmiki Basti no 4 park, in the park near Housing Board Police Chowki, Taxation Park in ward no 19, ward no 9 Arya Nagar Park, ward no 17 Palam Vihar-Bward no 13 at Shankar Park, ward no 10 Rampur Park, ward no 3 playground near Panchayati Bagh, ward no 2 near Tundla Gurdwaraward no 1 in the park near Kalalheri Gurdwara, ward no 4 Dalipgarhward no 5 near Babyal Gymnasium, near Boh ground in ward no 1, ward no 21 Shahpur Behgal, near Dharamshala, near Baazigar Dharamshala near FCI Godown, near Dera Sacha Sauda Satsang Bhawan in Rangiya Mandiward no 8 Maheshnagar, and ward no 16 Palam Vihar-D.
