Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh was happy to see Virat Kohli and Babar Azam showing mutual respect and admiration for each other. On Thursday, 14 July, the 33-year-old was dismissed for 16 in the second ODI against England at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

After Virat’s left-arm fast bowler David Willey was killed, Babar left a tweet showing his support for the former Indian captain. Babar wrote on Twitter, ‘This too shall pass. stay strong #Virat Kohli.”

Kohli then thanked Babar for supporting Babar in the midst of his poor form. Kohli replied to Babar and wrote, ‘Thank you. Keep shining and growing. wish you all the best.”

Harbhajan was delighted to see Virat and Babar tweeting for each other. The former spinner wrote on Twitter, “Great to see it.. from one champion to another well done @babarazam258 @imVkohli.”

Kohli is going through a bad phase in his career. Kohli has not scored a single century at the highest level since November 2019. Even in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Kohli failed to score consistently for the Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Kohli is now set to play in the third and final ODI against Jos Buttler’s Three Lions on Sunday, 17 July at Old Trafford in Manchester. It remains to be seen whether the Delhi-born batsman can get a big score in his belt.

Kohli has scored an average of 50 with two half-centuries in ODIs in Manchester.
