Hansika Motwani grabbed headlines when she announced her engagement with longtime boyfriend-entrepreneur Sohail Khaturia. The couple married in December 2022 in a close-knit ceremony at the Mundota Fort and Palace in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The Big Fat wedding was no less than royalty. Now, in her reality show, Hansika Ki Love Shaadi Drama, which released on Disney+Hotstar, the actress revealed that her mother Mona Motwani was seen demanding money from the groom’s family.
The rituals were completed without a hitch, but Mona Motwani was angry with the groom’s family for arriving late to the ceremony. Mona was seen approaching the groom’s mother and complaining about her late arrival. Hansika’s mother asked Sohail’s family members to pay him Rs 5 lakh for being late for the wedding festivities. “I have a humble request. Kathurias are those people who come very late and Motwanis are very punctual. If you come late today, you will have to pay me 5 lakh rupees for every minute delay I request this as the Muhurta is in the middle.” 4:30 to 6 p.m. So I request if you can come a little early,” said Mona.
Thereafter, Hansika describes her feeling seeing Sohail waiting in the mandap. She said that it really impressed her that she was marrying the love of her life. “It hit me hard and I was like ‘I’m marrying the love of my life.’ It was the best feeling. Things are getting real. I am getting married I don’t know how to explain it. And it was something different and I broke down.”
Meanwhile, Hansika married Sohail on December 4 at the Mundota Fort and Palace in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Their family members and close friends attended an intimate ceremony. They tied the knot according to Sindhi customs.
