Guwahati: After the ECI’s “Best Electoral Practices Award for Voters Education and Electoral Participation,” Cachar district deputy commissioner Keerthi Jalli has been honored with CM’s “Karmashree” award for excellence in public administration for the year 2019-20 when she was the deputy commissioner of Hailakandi district.
Jalli bagged this prestigious recognition for “an innovative step of efficient and transparent execution of schemes/ programs of the state/ centre” category.
As the deputy commissioner of Hailakandi, she took up the scheme of “Anaemia-Mukt Hailakandi” with her outstanding project “Amla-Gur candy to reduce Anaemia level throughout the district of Hailakandi.” Along with Jalli, two of her team members, then Hailakandi district social welfare officer Jyotirmoy Daimary and Poshan Abhiyan district coordinator Rajat Chakraborty, will be also decorated with the Karmashree Award.
“I thank the chief minister for considering me for the award. This would not have been possible without the support of senior officers guiding the way and social welfare team and love and support of Hailakandi people. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of all the Anganwadi workers, supervisors, CDPOs and mothers from Hailakandi district making the fight against anaemia a collective effort,” she added.
The State Level Committee for Karmashree Award has selected four other bureaucrats for the Karmashree Awards, 2019-20, which include then DC Goalpara (now DC Kokhrajhar) Varnali Deka for Vidyashakti Female Literary programme, 2019-20, Dr Ambika Deka, manager, District Poultry Farm, Japjapkuchi, Nalbari for Socio- Economic Development through Poultry Farming, Bitupan Neog, ACS, ADC i/c Kaliabor Sub-Division (Now ADC Sivasagar) for Development of Eco- Tourism by utilizing heritage and natural & human resources in Kaliabor Sub-Division, 2019-20 and Rakesh Kumar, MD APDCL and commissioner secretary fishery department and commissioner, North Assam department, for e-governance system in excise department, Assam.
