Guwahati-Howrah Express train derails in Assam, no casualty reported. Guwahati News – Times of India

Guwahati: 02346 Guwahati-Howrah Special Express derailed near Chaigaon AssamKamrup district on Wednesday, about an hour after it left Guwahati station.
Guneet Kaur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) said that there was no report of any injury or casualty.
“The train left Guwahati station at 12.20 pm and derailed near Chaigaon station at around 1.36 pm in Guwahati-Galpara-New Bongaigaon section under Rangiya division of NFR,” Kaur said.
According to the NFR, four coaches of the train including the pantry car derailed.
“There was no injury or casualty to any of the passengers. The passengers of the affected coaches have been shifted to other coaches. On receiving the information, Accident Relief Train and Accident Relief Medical Equipment Train were immediately dispatched to the accident site,” the CPRO said.
Senior Railway officials from Headquarters and Rangiya Division are already at the spot and necessary assistance is being provided to all the passengers. Restoration work has started.
