Gurugram: Four people, including a woman, have been arrested for making liquor intoxicated. Ruckus in a street Sikanderpur area of DLF-1 and assaulted the police when they were asked to disperse, the police said. The four also allegedly tore the uniform of a constable. He was produced in the court, from where he was taken on remand judicial custody,
Police said they received a call late Sunday evening about a group of people disrupting traffic on the Sikanderpur road. They were all drunk and dancing in the middle of the road, abusing the passengers and not allowing vehicles to cross, leading to a traffic jam.
A team of DLF-1 police station immediately reached the spot and urged the accused to clear the road immediately. But the miscreants allegedly started abusing the police and one of them even grabbed the collar of a police constable and slapped him.
“When some policemen tried to forcibly remove them from the road, they allegedly got into a scuffle and tore the uniform of a policeman. They were creating nuisance and were not ready to clear the road even after police intervention,” said SHO Naresh Kumar.
The accused have been identified as Soritot Yimchungar, Ikelungbe, Rasami Pame and Rimana Hangal Newme. Of these, three are originally from Manipur, while the other is from Nagaland. One is a music teacher while two others work in a hotel and Numi runs an online beauty parlor.
One FIR was lodged in the police station IPC Section 186 (obstructing public servant from discharge of public function), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant) 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to prevent public servant from performing his duty), 34 (general intent) and 506 (criminal intimidation) against them.
“All of them were arrested and produced in a court on Monday, from where they were remanded to judicial custody,” the SHO said.
