Gurugram Fire: Foreign liquor worth Rs 4-5 crore was gutted in a fierce fire today (May 14) at a liquor shop located in Sector-55 near Golf Course Road in Gurugram. According to fire officials, they received information at around 6.30 am that a liquor shop was on fire.

However, no casualty was reported in the incident, he said. The employees of the liquor shop themselves tried to extinguish the fire, which did not yield any result and they informed the fire department.

“When we reached the spot, a fire had already started emanating from the liquor store named ‘The Liquor Fort’ in the morning. By the time the fire tenders reached the spot and doused the fire completely, the stock of foreign liquor Fireman Jasbir of Sector-29 fire station said, 4 to 5 crore rupees were burnt in the shop.

Seven fire engines were used in the incident and it took the fire brigade team about an hour to bring the blaze under control. The cause of the fire is being ascertained by the fire department officials, but electrical short circuit is believed to be the most likely cause of the fire.
