First-time MLA Bhupendra Patel was sworn in as the Chief Minister of the state on Monday, following a sudden change in which Vijay Rupani resigned from the post of CM.

Meanwhile, the first cabinet meeting of the Council of Ministers to be chaired by CM Bhupendra Patel will be held in Gandhinagar today at 4.30 pm.

The dilemma over the swearing-in ceremony of new cabinet ministers remains a mystery as it was postponed twice on Wednesday. Tension was high in Gujarat BJP as the new CM of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel wanted a change in the entire cabinet.

The future of these four political faces

After the resignation of Vijay Rupani, questions are being raised about the political future of BJP veterans Nitin Patel, Bhupendra Singh Chudasma, RC Faldu and Kaushik Patel.

These four are the old faces of BJP in Gujarat. The biggest question is about former Deputy CM and strong leader Nitin Patel, who this time also fell behind in the race to become CM. Both Bhupendra Patel and Nitin Patel belong to the Patidar community.

Gujarat Assembly elections

Ministers took oath in the new cabinet of Bhupendra Patel government today. Assembly elections are due in Gujarat after about 15 months.
