“His three sons could not stand his condition and decided to operate on him,” said Dr. Kunal Shah, who along with his team undertook the extremely challenging knee replacement surgery. Shah Said that the surgery was challenging because the bones were completely worn out due to the fracture and the potential for complications including refraction and nerve palsy was high. “Since the joint was so deformed, even regular knee replacement implants would not fit.
