New Delhi: union health The ministry has asked all government departments and hospitals, laboratories and pharmacies and their doctors to be empaneled in dedicated registries under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.
In a letter to the secretaries of all central departments and directors of all central hospitals, the Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan Advised Government health facilities to procure and install Health/Hospital Information Management System (HMIS), also known as Hospital Information System (HIS) for generation of digital health records.
The government has decided that all its health facilities will participate in the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission – ABDM (earlier known as National Digital Health Mission – NDHM), which was launched at the national level by the Prime Minister. Narendra Modi On September 27, the letter said.
Accordingly, all government facilities (hospitals, clinics, laboratories, pharmacies, radiology centres, etc.) where any health service is provided are requested to register on the Health Facility Registry (HFR) under ABDM.
The letter, sent on November 9, said that all doctors working full-time or part-time for the facilities are to be registered on the Healthcare Professionals Registry (HPR) under ABDM.
“For effective digitization of health care in India, healthcare providers need to start creating digital health records. To facilitate this, government health facilities are required to procure and install a Health/Hospital Information Management System (HMIS). (His), also known as Hospital Information System (HIS), at their facilities. The solution chosen should be ABDM compliant,” the letter said.
The government has also provided two such solutions which are recommended for use – e-Hospital Buy Thread ,National Informatics Center) and e-Sushruta (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing) by C-DAC.
National Health Authority (dental) has been entrusted with the task of implementation of this initiative.
The letter further read, “We request that these activities may be started at the earliest, and necessary follow-up action may also be taken at your level. We look forward to your continued support to make the mission a success.” We do.”
