google: Google gets tough on vaccination policy: says new memo – Times of India

Google Employees are finding it difficult to not get vaccinated against Kovid-19. The company previously announced its policy of mandatory COVID-19 vaccination for employees, and now it may reportedly ask those who have not complied to go on unpaid leave as per that policy.
According to a report in CNBC, an internal memo shared by leadership at Google gave employees until December 3 to show proof of vaccination or apply for exemptions on medical or religious grounds. The memorandum also asked the employees to upload the proof of vaccination.
The memo reportedly further says employees who have not complied with vaccination rules by January 18 should be placed on “paid administrative leave” for 30 days. Thereafter, the company will place them on “unpaid personal leave” for up to six months, followed by termination.
The memorandum also states that frequency testing cannot replace vaccination. “We expect that almost all of Google’s roles in the US will be covered by the executive order,” Google’s memo said. “Anyone entering a Google building must be fully vaccinated or have an approved residence that allows them to work or come to the site. Repeated testing of vaccinations,” the company said. Not a valid option.”
in a statement to ledge, a Google spokesperson said, “As we’ve said before, our vaccination requirements are one of the most important ways we can keep our workforce safe and our services running. We work hard to help our employees.” We are committed to making every effort to get vaccinated, and to stand firmly behind our vaccination policy.”
The company’s vaccination policy is based on the Biden administration’s order that US companies with more than 100 employees ensure their employees were vaccinated or regularly tested against COVID-19.
