Goods Worth 10cr Gutted As Fire Breaks Out In Showroom | Noida News – Times of India

Noida: Goods worth around Rs 10 crore were gutted in a fire that broke out at a hardware showroom in Sector 66’s Mamura village on Tuesday morning. While the reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained, fire department officials suspect that a short circuit could have led to the blaze.
Fifteen fire engines took around over two hours to douse the fire, officials said. No casualties have been reported in the incident as the showroom, Riddhi Trading Companywas closed when the fire broke out, they added.
Owner Gonu Ram said hardware material, paints and water pipes, etc, worth would be around Rs 10-11 crore were stored in the showroom and had been completely destroyed. “I got a call from the staff of a nearby showroom around 9 am. The police and firefighters had already reached the spot when I reached. None of my employees or the security guard was present at the showroom at that time. I do not know how the fire broke out,” he said.
Arun Kumar Singh, chief fire safety officer (CFO), told TOI that the fire had spread swiftly. “A total of 15 fire engines were used to control the flame. It took around two hours to completely douse it,” he said, adding that the loss estimate was yet to be prepared.
SHO of Phase 3 police station Vivek Trivedi, meanwhile, said that the police have not received any complaint in this matter yet. “We are still probing all angles,” he said.
