Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday reached Lohatki village of Sohna to take stock of the construction of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the construction of Sarhaul Uturn Underpass on Delhi-Jaipur Highway has been completed, which will be opened on October 15.

With the opening of the Sarhaul U-turn underpass, the drivers will get relief from the daily jams on the Delhi-Jaipur highway. Chief Minister Manohar Lal and Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh were also present. Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that it is a matter of pride for the country that a lot of work on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has been completed.

Through this, you will be able to reach Mumbai from Delhi in 12-12:30 hours. Its 160 km stretch will pass through Haryana at a cost of about 10400 crores, out of which 130 km has been completed. Connectivity will also be done through interchange at many places to connect Nuh and Palwal with the expressway.

Way-side facilities will be built at 6 places in the part falling in Haryana. In these, other facilities including resort, restaurant, dormitory, hospital, food court, foot station, garage parking will be available for the passengers. Helicopter service and drones will also be available on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in case of an accident. Out of this, the work of 214 km from Delhi to Dausa will be completed by March 2022. Along with this, about 60 km of road will be constructed to connect Delhi-Mumbai Expressway with DND, Faridabad and Ballabhgarh. The work will be done in three packages to connect the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway with the DND. Under this, 6 lanes will be constructed at a cost of about 5 thousand crores, which has been targeted to be completed by 2023. Traffic jam problem will be solved in DND, Ashram, Badarpur, Faridabad and Ballabhgarh.

Use of 8 percent plastic waste in construction
In response to a question, Gadkari said that 8 percent plastic waste is being used in road construction. His ministry has also issued a notification regarding this. Apart from this, its quality is being increased by mixing tyres, rubber, waste.

In the program, Union Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh said that 7 years ago the Modi government was formed and at that time Nitin Gadkari came from Maharashtra and became a minister at the Centre, then there was a saying that Gadkari is the father of highways in Maharashtra. Gadkari has done the work of laying the national highway network in Haryana and the country, so he can be called the father of the country’s highways.

Construction of Gurugram-Sohna road will be completed in 2022
The construction work of 21.65 km NH-2 (48) from Gurugram to Sohna is going on from Gurugram to Sohna at a cost of about Rs 1700 crore. A 5 km long elevated road is being built from Badshahpur to Bhondsi. This work will be completed by March 2022. On this occasion, taking a jibe at the CM, the Union Minister said that Manohar Lal put an 8-km Dwarka Expressway highway on me. I thought it was an 8 kilometer project. I will get it done at a cost of Rs 50-100 crore, but later it was found that it would cost Rs 10 thousand crore. I am sure of the matter, if you say it then it will be done.

1004 crores spent to make jam free
The Union Minister said that 1004 crore work has been completed to make the Delhi-Gurugram road free from traffic. The construction of flyover and underpass at IFFCO Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, Signature Chowk has been completed. At the same time, a DPR of 1200 crores has been prepared for the construction of Delhi-Gurugram-Kishangarh road. During this, Gadkari said that there is a jam near Dhaulakuan on landing from the airport, in view of which the local police station was directed to make another shift.
