Renowned gangster Vikram alias Papala Gurjar has been sentenced to life imprisonment in the Bimla murder case. In Haryana, Narnaul Additional District and Sessions Judge Sudhir Jeevan sentenced Papala Gurjar on Tuesday at 1.45 pm. The court had convicted Papla in this case on October 25 itself. Papala Gurjar was produced in the court on Tuesday morning amid tight security. Bimla was killed six years ago by Papla Gurjar in Khairoli village of Mahendragarh district by firing 23 bullets. Papla, who was lodged in the High Security Jail of Ajmer in Rajasthan, was shifted to Naseebpur Jail in Narnaul on 29 September 2021 itself.

Victim party sought death penalty

According to the victim’s advocate Ajay Choudhary, Papla was convicted on the basis of the postmortem report of the FSL, Bimla and the testimony of Bimla’s brother-in-law Dudaram, who was present at the spot. In the FSL report, it was revealed that Bimla was shot with 23 bullets as well as using two weapons. During the post-mortem, apart from 9MM pistol, country-made pistols were also recovered from Bimla’s body. According to Advocate Ajay Chaudhary, there was a debate on whether Papala Gurjar should be hanged or life imprisonment on Tuesday morning. He demanded that Papla Gurjar be hanged, but the court, after hearing both the sides, sentenced Papla Gurjar to life imprisonment.

Bimla was shot by 23 bullets

According to the counsel for the victim, Ajay Chaudhary, on the night of August 21, 2015, Bimla was in her house. At 12 o’clock in the night, Papala and his 6 accomplices entered the house and killed Bimla. Bimla was shot 23. After the murder of Bimla, a case was registered against the gangster Bikram alias Papla of Khairoli village and his 6 accomplices at Mahendragarh Sadar police station under sections 148, 149, 302, 120B of IPC and Arms Act. The police also arrested Papala, but on September 5, 2017, during the court appearance, Papala’s accomplices fired indiscriminately and took him away. A policeman was killed in this firing. In this case, 6 accused were acquitted on 12 April 2018 giving benefit of doubt while Papla Gurjar was convicted by the court on 25 October 2021. According to advocate Ajay Choudhary, Bimla was murdered because she was adamant on testifying against Papla in the murders of her father Sriram and son Sandeep. Shri Ram and Sandeep were murdered by Papala.

On September 29, Narnaul shifted to Papla
Papla was arrested on 28 January 2021 by the Special Police Force of Rajasthan from Kolhapur in Maharashtra. Since then he was lodged in Ajmer’s High Security Jail. In the 6-year-old Bimla murder case, Papla’s lawyers filed an application in the Narnaul court and appealed to bring him on production warrant. The court accepted the application and ordered to present Papla in the court on 29 September 2021. On September 29, after the appearance, ASJ Sudhir Jeevan ordered to shift Papla to Naseebpur Jail.

Apart from Haryana, many criminal cases are also registered against Papala Gurjar in Rajasthan. This wanted crook of Haryana Police was taken into custody by the Behror police station in Rajasthan during checking on 6 September 2019 with a hefty amount, but at that time the police failed to recognize Papla. Treating him as a common miscreant, he was kept in the lockup of Behror police station. Papla’s accomplices took him away from police custody while attacking Behror police station with AK-47 on the same day.
