According to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, even small cars should have airbags for all passengers, so that the lower, middle and poor sections can also get the necessary safety during travel.

In an interview to PTI, Gadkari asked the automobile companies that companies provide only 8 airbags in big cars bought by rich people, while small cars have only 2 to 3 airbags. Why so? He said that the poor should also get security in our country.

At least 6 airbags required
He said that small cars are mostly bought by the lower and middle class people. If their cars do not have airbags, they can die in the event of an accident. In such a situation, I would appeal to all the car manufacturers to provide at least 6 airbags in all their cars.

car price will increase
Nitin Gadkari admitted that increasing the number of airbags would increase the cost of small cars by at least Rs 3,000 to 4,000. But the poor should also get full protection.
