Fuel prices skyrocket for sixth consecutive day as petrol, diesel prices hike. Check Revised Rate

Petrol and diesel prices were increased across the country for the sixth consecutive day on Sunday. According to the price notification of the state-owned fuel retailers, the price of petrol was hiked by 30 paise per liter and diesel by 35 paise per liter.

Petrol price in Delhi was hiked by 30 paise per liter, taking it to Rs 104.14. Diesel price in the national capital has increased by Rs 0.35 to Rs 92.82 per litre.

Petrol in Mumbai today costs Rs 110.12 per liter (up by Rs 0.29) and diesel at Rs 100.66 per liter (up by Rs 0.37).

Petrol now costs Rs 104.80 per liter in Kolkata, while diesel costs Rs 95.93. Meanwhile, in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, petrol has gone up to Rs 101.53 and diesel to Rs 97.26.

Prices vary from state to state depending on the incidence of local taxes.

On 28 September for petrol and 24 for diesel, a three-week relief in rates was broken by rising oil prices across the globe.

Since then, the price of diesel has gone up by 3.85 paise per liter, while that of petrol has gone up by Rs 2.65.

Before the July/August price cut, petrol price was increased by Rs 11.44 per liter between May 4 and July 17. The rate of diesel was increased by Rs 9.14 during this period.
