Friends star Matthew Perry to release autobiography next year

“Friends” star Matthew Perry is set to release an autobiography in late 2022, as he said he thinks it’s time for him to tell his story “straight from the horse’s mouth.” As reported by femalefirst.co.uk, the actor has said that he is getting ready to release his own memoir, as he said that he feels it will be better for him to tell his story “straight from the horse’s mouth”. It’s time.

He told People magazine: “A lot has been written about me by others in the past. I thought it was time people heard it straight from the horse’s mouth. In this case, the horse’s mouth is me.”

According to Deadline.com, Perry signed a seven-issue deal with Flatiron Books, a division of Macmillan, for the upcoming memoir.

The publication has no title yet, and will be released at the end of next year.

Megan Lynch, publisher of Flatiron Books, will edit the autobiography, and told Deadline: “We need the humor, we need the catharsis, and we need to agree on something—and the extraordinary story of Matthew, in his unique voice. Turns out, that is the point. Matthew’s book has an unmatched ability to bring people together, which seems especially encouraging at this time of separation and division.”

It’s not yet known how much of Perry’s life will be covered in her own book, but earlier this year she shared her “Friends” co-stars – Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer again – for the long-awaited special on HBO Max.

The special revealed many behind-the-scenes secrets of their time on the show and reminisced the actors about being a part of the hit series.

Speaking before the special airing, Matthews spoke about the show’s enduring legacy, saying: “It was a character-driven joke, not a timely joke. He didn’t make a joke at the time. He didn’t joke about OJ Simpson. They made character-driven jokes about people — and people are going to come back again and again and see it.”
