New Delhi: French President Emmanuel Macron tweeted in Hindi on Saturday after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G20 summit in Rome. To this gesture, PM Modi retaliated by tweeting in French.
Underlining the importance of Indo-French relations, French President Macron writes on his official Twitter handle, “We share common ambitions for environment, health and innovation with India. We work together towards tangible results. will continue to do so, especially in the India-Pacific region.”

Hinting, PM Modi tweeted in French, “Pleasant to meet my friend, President Emmanuel Macron in Rome. Our talks revolve around strengthening cooperation in various fields and promoting people-to-people ties. “

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) informed about the “productive discussions” between the two leaders on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Rome.

Earlier, PM Modi had met his Italian counterpart Prime Minister Mario Draghi on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Rome. In his first in-person meeting, PM Modi on Friday congratulated PM Draghi for successfully hosting the G20 amid the global pandemic.
PM Modi will visit Glasgow, where he is scheduled to participate in the COP-26 United Nations Climate Change Conference, to be hosted by the UK in partnership with Italy, from October 31 to November 12, 2021.
