‘Free, fair and impartial judicial system is the biggest need of democracy’

New Delhi: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday (July 10, 2022) said that a “free, fair and impartial” judicial system is the biggest need for a free and fair democracy. Inaugurating a facilitation section of Maharashtra National Law University in Nagpur, the Minister of Road Transport and Highways lauded the four pillars of democracy – legislative, executive, judiciary and media.

“A free, fair and impartial judicial system is the foremost requirement for a free and fair democracy,” he said.

Time is the biggest asset, Gadkari said and added that many administrative reforms have taken place under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He also advocated a deadline for development works and removal of delays, which could save the country thousands of crores of rupees.

Both the Supreme Court judges Justices Bhushan Gavai and PS Narasimha and the new Deputy CM of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis were also present on the occasion.
