‘Fragrance of socialism’: Akhilesh Yadav’s ‘privatized’ Samajwadi Party perfume is on the nose

Bottled in red and green colored glasses, there is a ‘fragrance of socialism’. No, this is not a niche idiom or idiom, but a product launched by Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh – Apni Party Ka Ittar.

Kannauj MLC Pammi Jain on Tuesday inaugurated ‘Samajwadi Itra’ made of 22 natural fragrances ahead of the upcoming 2022 assembly elections. The same numbers are coincidental or the objective is not known, but the mark hits the correct track.

And what does it smell like? According to Jain, “When people use it, it will smell of socialism.” But not only that. During the launch, Jain said during the launch that “perfume will end hatred in 2022”.

The perfume box carries a picture of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav with the party’s election symbol and colour. Jain has also given his number on the back of the box. The stained glass bottle of perfume is in red and green colours, which also bears the symbol of the Samajwadi Party and the cycle.

The Samajwadi Party started its campaign in the state on 12 October with the ‘Vijay Rath Yatra’ from Kanpur. Former Chief Minister Yadav recalling his experience in coalition politics was stressed That SP will not have any alliance with “big parties”. “I don’t think SP will have any alliance with Congress or BSP.” She also said that the ruling BJP “knows that the SP is the real challenge” and hence is trying to create a false impression about the growing strength of the Congress in Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the party staged protests at the state level on Monday to mark the fifth anniversary of demonetisation, saying the decision caused loss of lives and destroyed businesses. Yadav alleged in a tweet that demonetisation neither stopped black money nor corruption or terrorism as claimed by the BJP government. “On the fifth anniversary of demonetisation, the BJP should expose those who fled with black money or settled abroad,” he said. Neither black money stopped nor corruption or terrorism,” Yadav said.

SP had brought veteran politicians earlier Om Prakash Rajbhari for the party, but it remains to be seen whether Rajbhar will turn the party’s fortunes in the upcoming elections. According to experts, the development was important in the context of the upcoming elections, but it was ultimately an advantage for Akhilesh. He said that the dominance of Rajbhar’s Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) in the Purvanchal region of the state needs to be explored.
