Five people were killed in an earthquake in Tajikistan, the Tajik Emergency Situations Committee said on Saturday, with the epicenter 165 kilometers northeast of the capital Dushanbe.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said the 5.9-magnitude quake struck 27 km (17 mi) east of Rasht in Tajikistan.
According to the EMSC, it was at a depth of 40 km and also about 153 km southeast of Khujand, Tajikistan.
