Five arrested for blackmailing Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Theni: Delhi Police

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Friday said that five people have been arrested for blackmailing Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni.

The Delhi Police made the arrest after receiving a call from the minister’s staff that they had received extortion calls.

“An FIR was registered in New Delhi district. Five people – four from Noida and one from Delhi – have been arrested for extortion,” according to Delhi Police, reported ANI.

Teni’s son Ashish Mishra is also included in the 13 accused of violence on October 3 in Tikunia police station area of ​​Lakhimpur Kheri.

The minister’s son was arrested on October 9 and is currently in jail.

Eight people, including four farmers and a local journalist, were killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. He was allegedly crushed by a vehicle of the minister’s convoy at Lakhimpur Kheri.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Uttar Pradesh probing the Lakhimpur violence case has termed the incident as a well-planned and deliberate act and not of negligence or negligence.

Several other people have also been arrested by the SIT during the investigation in this case and they are lodged in Lakhimpur Kheri District Jail.

The opposition has intensified its attack on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government following the SIT’s plea to sack the Minister of State for Home from the Union Cabinet over the Lakhimpur violence.
