First shooting schedule of Mari Selvaraj’s Mamanan wraps up

Director Mari Selvaraj said on Twitter that the first shooting schedule of Mamanan has been completed. Mamannan stars Udayanidhi Stalin, Vadivelu, Fahad Faasil and Keerthy Suresh. The film has been billed as a political thriller. AR Rahman has been roped in to compose the music for the film.

The film is bankrolled by Udayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies. Theni Easwar handles the cinematography while Selva RK is in charge of editing.

According to reports, the role of Vadivelu in Mamannan will be on the lines of the character that was played by Thambi Ramaiah in Thani Oruvan.

Dhanush played the lead role in Mari Selvaraj’s last film Karnan. The film, which focused on human rights violations committed in the name of caste, was appreciated by critics and audiences. Despite the Covid-19 restrictions and seating capacity in theatres, the film was a hit at the box office.

Fahadh has recently wrapped up shooting for his upcoming Tamil film Vikram. The film also stars Kamal Haasan and Vijay Sethupathi. It is written and directed by Vikram Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film is scheduled to release on 3 June 2022.

Fahadh will also be seen in Malayalam-language survival thriller film Malayankunju. The film stars Rajisha Vijayan in the lead role along with Fahadh.

Udayanidhi Stalin was last seen in the 2020 film Psycho. The film also starred Nithya Menon, Aditi Rao Hydari and debutante Rajkumar Pichumani in pivotal roles.

Udayanidhi Stalin will also play a lead role in Nenjuku Nidhi. The film is a remake of Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Article 15. Nenjuku Needhi was scheduled to release in early March 2022, but was then indefinitely delayed to avoid competition with films such as Itharakkum Thunindavan and Radhe Shyam.

Kirti’s last film was Good Luck Sakhi. She will next be seen in Sarkaru Vaari Pata to be released on 12 May 2022.
