Team Dasvi
Before the release of his film Dasvi, the lead cast of the film, Abhishek BacchanYami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur got a chance to visit Central Jail Agra. The three stars were present in the jail along with director Tushar Jalota for the promotion of their film ‘Dasvi’. The film is a social comedy that highlights the importance of education. The story revolves around a rustic politician, Abhishek Bachchan, Ganga Ram Choudhary, who later decides to clear his 10th exams. Yami registered Jailor Jyoti Deswal and Nimrat as Chief Minister Bimala Devi.
The three actors also took to social media to share their experiences. Posting a video, Abhishek wrote, “Ek promise is a promise!! Last night I managed to fulfill a promise I made a year ago. The first screening of our film Dasvi was held for the guards and prisoners of Agra Central Jail. It was done. We shot the film here. His reactions are memories that I will remember and cherish for the rest of my life.”
Whereas, Nimrat Kaur, who shot some important scenes in Agra Jail, shared her excitement saying, “This is the first time that we have screened for jail inmates. Not many people had seen a film in 10- 20 years. It was a bitter-sweet moment for all of us. Jail itself plays an important role in Dasvi, and we were very excited to show him our love.” The actress also shared Abhishek’s video on her Instagram account.
Yami Gautam, on the other hand, posted a few pictures from the screening. He captioned the post, “The smile on your face says it all. The screening of Dasvi was one of a kind for the inmates of #Agra Central Jail.”
