As India sees a rise in the number of Covid-19 cases, the stars of the Bengali film industry are also falling prey to the virus. After many celebs, now actress-MP Mimi Chakraborty has come under the grip of this virus. For the first time, the MP informed about being infected on Twitter.
He tweeted, ‘I am infected with Corona. But I have not been out of the house or in public for the last few days. But I haven’t been overwhelmed. Please wear a mask to avoid exposure. Please be careful and wear a mask.”
The post has attracted a lot of concern from fans, with people wishing him a speedy recovery. Apart from Mimi, actors Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Rudranil Ghosh have also tested positive for Covid-19. At present both are in isolation.
However, Rudranil wrote on social media, ‘I am not positive. I am in home isolation. Everyone be careful, stay healthy.” He said that he has mild fever and pain in hands and feet.
Organizing committee member Parambrata Chattopadhyay was present at the press conference of the 26th Calcutta Film Festival on Wednesday. He reported contracting Covid-19 within 24 hours of his return from the festival.
Popular Bengali film director Raj Chakraborty was also reportedly down with the virus yesterday. This is reportedly the second time he has been infected. His wife Subhashree Ganguly has also got this disease. “Subhashree and I have been tested positive for Covid-19. We are practicing home quarantine,” Raj wrote on Twitter.
