School closed in lockdown. The queue of school buses is standing in the parking lot for a long time. On Sunday, three buses were burnt to ashes behind the Dumurjala Stadium in Howrah. Panic spread in the area around 4.30 pm due to the incident. Three buses were completely burnt in the fire.
That day at 4.30 pm, the locals first noticed a fire burning in a bus. The news goes to the fire department. Two fire tenders arrived from Shibpur and Howrah fire stations. By then 2 more buses started burning. After half an hour of effort, people brought the fire under control.
According to the local people, there is a dispute going on for a long time regarding illegal parking of buses at Dumurjala Stadium. Since the lockdown, the queue of buses is standing behind the stadium. Despite repeated requests to the administration to remove them, no one listened. Some buses caught fire that day.
It is not normal for a bus to catch fire suddenly. The fire brigade said that it would be investigated whether the fire started due to short circuit or whether there was sabotage behind it.
