A man and his seven-year-old son died on the spot in a horrific Diwali incident when a scooty laden with firecrackers exploded in Puducherry on Thursday.
Father Kalanesan and his son Pradeep were riding a two-wheeler carrying a bundle of firecrackers, which extinguished the flames. Both died on the spot. A CCTV footage of the incident later went viral on social media.
Three others were also injured due to the blast and were taken to Puducherry’s Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) for treatment.
