BJP candidate Govind Kanda, who was in the by-election to the Ellenabad assembly seat of Haryana, had to face tremendous opposition from the farmers on Saturday. On Saturday evening, Govind Kanda, who reached the Gurdwara Singh meeting with BJP leaders, was thrown out of the gurdwara by the farmers. The farmers thrashed BJP’s Ellenabad urban unit chief Jasvir Singh Chahal, who was with Kanda. Because of these bumps, Chahal kept falling on the ground on his face. Sensing the urgency of the occasion, Govind Kanda’s personal security personnel took him out from there.

Farmers were protesting since Saturday morning at the party office at Ambedkar Chowk in Ellenabad. The farmers raised slogans against the BJP. Sirsa MLA and Govind Kanda’s brother Gopal Kanda was also present at the party office at that time. During this, the police had to struggle hard to handle the farmers. After this party candidate Govind Kanda had several programs in the city. Wherever Govind Kanda and party leaders were going for the program, farmers were reaching there expressing their opposition.

BJP candidate Govind Kanda was going to address the election meeting at BJP councilor’s house at 4 pm. At the same time, stopping near Gurdwara Singh Sabha in the city, he went inside to bow his head. Govind Kanda was accompanied by his supporters and personal security guard. Within no time, the farmers opposing Kanda reached there too. The farmers started protesting against Kanda and expelled him from the Gurdwara Sahib.

The farmers are also accused of thrashing BJP’s urban head Jasvir Singh Chahal, who was going out in the Gurdwara premises. He says that due to the shock, he kept falling. Seeing the protest of the farmers, the BJP candidates and party workers immediately left with the convoy. On the spot, the police explained to the farmers and pacified them.
