Rajkot: A 28-year-old woman allegedly set her two minor sons on fire over a domestic dispute in Gujarat’s Rajkot town on Saturday.
Inspector NN Chudasama of Kuvadwa police station said that the incident took place early in the morning in Nakrawadi area of ​​the city, when Dayaben Dadaniya poured kerosene on himself and his two sons and set them and himself on fire.
He said Dayaben and his sons Mohit (7) and Dhaval (4) were burnt to death.
“The woman lived in a two-room house with her children, husband, mother-in-law and brother-in-law. She had frequent fights with her mother-in-law, and she may have taken this step. About a quarrel,” said Chudasama .
He said that two men of the house had gone to work while the elderly woman was in the washroom when the incident took place.
Seeing the smoke, the mother-in-law of the woman cried for help, he said, adding that all three succumbed to severe burns. The officer said that the police is further investigating the incident.
