Hrithik Roshan’s ex-wife Sussanne Khan’s sister and jewelery designer Farah Khan Ali has confirmed her divorce from DJ Aqeel. Farah announced the news by posting happy pictures with Aqeel on her Instagram handle. “We are officially declared divorced and we are happy about it. We wish each other lots of love, happiness and all the best for the journey ahead,” Farah wrote along with a few selfies with Aqeel.
Farah added that she and Aqeel “will always be parents to our beautiful children Azaan and Fiza and nothing will change.” “Grateful for the journey we’ve been on together.”
In March 2021, Farah announced her separation from Aqeel. Describing their relationship status as “happily separated”, Farah wrote, “Sometimes two people grow apart. Sometimes they outgrow each other. It’s been 9 years since my husband Aqeel My relationship with changed our status as a couple to just friends and words.” It would simply be to state that we are ‘detached from happiness’. We will always be best friends to each other and parents to our wonderful children Azaan and Fiza who we both love equally yet accept that we can no longer be a couple.
The couple ended their marriage on a mutual note. “It was a mutual decision that involved two of us adults and no third person was involved. We are announcing this publicly now so that those who know us will accept our position gracefully and always Wish them both the best.” Us especially because we do not hold any animosity towards each other and will always be there for each other. Aqeel will always be my family and I will be his. We hope all our well wishers will accept our decision maturely and don’t judge us for it. Being happy is important and all of us, Aqeel and I, including our children and families, certainly are. That’s all that matters. Grateful and happy for everything in my life,” the note concluded.
Farah and DJ Aqeel married in February 1999 and welcomed their son, Azaan, in 2002. Their daughter Fiza was born in 2005.
