Fake Job Offers: IT Department Warns Against Fake Appointment Letters, Says Follow SSC Website

Income Tax Department: The Income Tax (IT) Department has warned people against fraudulent job offers. According to the tax department, it has been brought to its notice that some people are misleading people by issuing fake appointment letters to join the income tax department. The Income Tax Department advises the general public to be wary of such offers.

The Income Tax Department has tweeted not to fall prey to imposters who mislead job aspirants by issuing fake appointment letters to join the department.

Issuing a public notice, the tax department stated direct recruitment to all Group B and C posts is done through the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and the notification/results are made available on the SSC website.

The Income Tax department has said that candidates should consider offers or advertisements only through the SSC or official websites of the department. Apart from this, do not pay heed to any kind of job offer and if you do get such offers then it must be investigated thoroughly.

The tax department has issued a notice and wrote that the general public is advised to exercise caution and take cognisance against any fake advertisement/notification/appointment letter advertised/circulated through any platform/portal other than the official websites of the Income Tax department and the SSC.
