Govinda’s rift with nephew Krushna Abhishek, who was a regular on The Kapil Sharma Show, is once again in the news. Govinda appeared on Sunday night’s episode of The Kapil Sharma Show. His wife Sunita and daughter Tina also accompanied the actor while son Yashvardhan made a special appearance. The family was seen indulging in a riot of laughter with Kapil Sharma and his cast sharing some funny anecdotes about each other. However, his nephew Krishna refused to be a part of the episode.

Govinda got angry over a comment made by Krushna Abhishek on his show. In an earlier interview, Govinda had slammed his nephew for “making money by insulting others on television”. He revealed that he was “extremely upset” by the ‘I have kept Govinda ko apna mama’ remark. In his defence, Krishna had said that the remark was “not in bad taste.”

In 2016, Govinda made an appearance on Sony’s The Kapil Sharma Show along with his wife Sunita and daughter Tina to promote his comeback film Jagga Jasoos. This appearance seems to have disappointed Krushna Abhishek, who hosted Comedy Night Love – a rival show on Colors at that time. “Somehow our dates did not match. I messaged him again four days ago, but to my shock, I learned that he and his wife were shooting with Kapil. I was amazed because I expected him to support his nephew,” Krishna expressed his displeasure at the time.

In 2019, Krushna Abhishek, who was then playing the role of Sapna in The Kapil Sharma Show, was reportedly asked not to appear in a segment with Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja, who were on stage. In an interview with TOI, Krishna revealed that he was sad and shocked to learn that Sunita did not want to share the stage with him. “I was told by the team that Sunita Mami did not want me to be a part of the segment featuring her. So I appeared in a gig before his entry. It was sad and shocking as my character (Sapna) is an integral part of the show.”

In 2020, Krishna himself decided to opt out of the TKSS episode featuring Govinda as a celebrity guest. Krishna said in an interview to Bombay Times, “I learned about Chi Chi Mama appearing on the show about 10 days ago. Since Sunita Maami was not with her, the team thought I would not mind performing. However, the incident has left a bad taste in my mouth. Last year, she didn’t want me to perform in front of her, but this time, I objected.”
Krushna Abhishek once again refused to be a part of the episode of The Kapil Sharma Show with Govinda (2021).
Krishna had recently said that he had chosen Sunday’s episode of The Kapil Sharma Show featuring Govinda to avoid any kind of unpleasantness. Krishna said that when he learned that Govinda would be a guest on an episode, he decided not to “adjust” his dates.
