‘Ensure justice to Congress workers’: From MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury to CM Mamata Banerjee

New Delhi: In a letter addressed to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Thursday drew the CM’s attention to the “violence and atrocities committed by the workers of the ruling party”.

According to the letter, on Thursday, TMC workers looted and ransacked the houses of Congress party worker in ‘light of day’.

Chowdhury wrote in his letter, “I would like to draw your attention to the violence and atrocities committed by the workers of the ruling party in broad daylight today, when the houses of Congress party workers were vandalized and many of us was robbed.”

The Congress MP mentioned how crimes were committed “within the full eye of the local police administration” and urged for “immediate administrative action” on the perpetrators.

He said, “You will be surprised to know that the entire looting and violence took place under the glare of the local police administration. Under this situation prevailing in the area, immediate administrative action has been demanded against these miscreants.”

He asked the CM to intervene and ensure justice for the victims.

He further said, “You are requested to intervene in this matter so that the deteriorating law and order situation in a particular area can be stopped and justice is also ensured to those victims.”
